On January 23, 2018, the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union eliminated the Republic of Panama from the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes.
The Republic of Panama has made commitments at a high political level to correct the observations made by the European Union and Panama has been transferred to a separate category of jurisdictions under close scrutiny.
