Since February 25, Panama has extended its range of epidemiological surveillance and monitoring on travelers who come not only from China, but also from South Korea and Italy.
Surveillance was maximized, including monitoring, phone calls and home visits, said Lourdes Moreno, national head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health (MINSA).
“We have implemented these protocols since January, with all those who came from China, now we reinforce surveillance, but it is also important that the entire population knows that people from these risk areas should be at home 14 days and comply with the regulations of the MINSA”, Moreno said The MINSA recommends maintaining hand washing as a preventive measure for any respiratory illness.
